Signed, so now international support. I did go to the BSMEE exhibition the other year and I'm nearly local, originally coming from Berkshire.
Good luck

Most clubs get council grants to do various improvement to their ground... Did the Bristol club? Might be worth giving the local press a story about council wasting tax payer's money.

The Bristol Club need a certain minimum number of petitioners so the matter can be debated by the full Bristol Council rather than be determined by officers of the Council.
So this is why signing the petition is important.
Other approaches will also no doubt be employed, and letters to the local MP etc and involving the local press; but the above is a necessary prerequisite to ensuring this matter is dealt with via a debate by the Bristol Councillors, and not delegated to officers.
Cheers,
Julian

Done. We are blessed in Southampton with a council who view the railway as an amenity that makes Riverside Park more attractive. We contributed to the green flag scheme and open up for city events. Now if the railway was on council land that could be used for housing, there is no argument, money speaks but if this railway is in a public park why not sell the advantages of having it there for the benefit of the public, in other words those who elected the council in the first place. Thanks David. We have both signed up now. As Julian says, get the press involved regarding the loss of a public amenity. Britain needs more engineering students. Getting children interested in the railway and engineering is a national advantage. Bristol is a city with major engineering organisations and university. The city needs to promote engineering, not squash it. Get the press on your side and they can have a big effect on how councillors think, and more importantly, vote.
