Hi guys
This was going to be an all-out plea for help but now I may have found what I need, my main concern now is are the company concerned legit? The company concerned are DD design, a seller of old magazines/books, never used them before so we shall see. My quest was to find copies of LLAS issues 14 and 22, I know that these are rare and No.22 in particular ( my main reason for questioning this companies claim to have it) couldn't be supplied by Reeves when I bought the drawings/manual for 'Doncaster' some 20 years ago, what they did do was send a photocopy of the relevant pages and this is where I come unstuck.
I need details for the E.S.cox build, as some will know Don has a bad habit of referring builders to over loco builds for the info required, predominately fittings, stops repetition according to Don...lol
While I wait to see if anything good comes of my order does anyone have these issues and if so would they be prepared to scan/copy the details an email them to me? As stated this involves details on E.S.Cox, in issue 14 this is mainly the injector facings for the boiler, these are oval pads which follow the prototype closely. In issue 22 again under E.S.Cox Don describes the making of the injector valves and clacks, he states that they are pretty authentic, I want to decide this for myself. According to Don (IIRC) the brake/vacuum and injector valve's have a lot in common, something about one extra hole being the main difference internal wise. My main aim is to see if the internals will fit/work within Adam's nice castings.
While I'm currently house ridden I'm trying to work my way through all of the boiler fittings/bushes so that I can ask Paul to follow suit as close as possible, there may be a number of extra's to do to the boiler, nothing much but it's wise to get it done during the build rather than risk drilling into a new boiler, I'll, of course, give details in my thread once I get there, this is at least 12 months away, the good thing is I now have all of the funds tucked away safely..
so over to you guys, can anyone help with these drawings/words..?
Kind regards
Pete
