A couple of years ago, our society (Tiverton & District MES) was approached by someone who said that had a locomotive that had been built by their father. It was sitting in the garage, and the chap thought it would be nice to get it running again.
He offered it to us on permanent loan, provided we got it running.
Our Chairman stripped down all the plate-work and re-painted it and got the boiler cleaned up, tested and certified.
Last weekend, I drove it for the first time, and noticed that the valve events are a bit 'out'.
The valve gear hasn't been touched, so I am hoping to have a look at it. However - we do not have any drawings for it, so will not be able to tell if the parts (e.g. the valves) have been made accurately.
Has anyone got drawings for 'Butch', and can give me port and and valve dimensions?
Thanks

Hi,
I have sent you a PM regarding a drawing.
It might still have some (shrunken) packing in the piston rings to replace! Mine picked up some deep scratches on the slide valve faces and that really messed up its steaming. The covers come off easily to look inside, and the pistons pull out the front.
Best wishes!
Norm
