Philip,
As David suggests, you need to buy the drawings. And you also ought to have the construction series in ME from the early 1970s.
Note that the valve gear needs re-visiting for the slide valve variant to be optimum. From what I recall, Martin Evans did not change the suspension offset from the piston valve to slide valve version.
Nice loco. Driven (is that grammatically correct?) quite a few.
Cheers, Julian

I've got quite a few of the MEs covering the construction series of you want them. I'm near Worcester if you want to collect them, otherwise Myhermes.

Thanks David, I was aware of the drawings availablity at reeves, I have Sheets 1/3/4/5/6/7/12, these came with the parts I am tempted as all drawings at Reeves have 25% off (Until Saturday) giving me a set for £79 (plus £8.88 postage), which I wouldn't have known if I hadn't followed Davids link the full set is 15 sheets and I already have 7 !!..hence me asking if anyone had a set. Thanks for the tip Julian regards valve gear, I'd go with Driven . And finally Thanks Richard, I almost have a full set (1898-2014) of loose ME's..so it's just a case of diggin them out. The project is a 2 1/2" scale, 10 1/4" inch gauge locomotive, there are quite a few castings and other parts already done. originally builder used the Martin Evans drawings and scaled up Philip

If you could spare them, or a copy, that would be great, I will be travelling from Gloucester to Retford on either Friday or Saturday if that would be convenient - can fit in with you on time. Thank you.

Thank you. OK, I've checked what I've got. As far as I can tell, the series ran from Vol 138 issue 3440, 5th May 1972 to Vol 139,late October/early November 1973, in about 37 articles. I've got 1-35, with the exception of nos 5,6,15,26, 28,31 and possibly a couple after 35, covering the completion of the tender. Send me a PM, and I'll give you my address. If you don't already have it I strongly recommend getting a copy of Alec Farmers book'Model Locomotive Boilermaking' because the boiler he uses as an example throughout the book is 'Torquay Manor'. Its also, IMHO, the best book on copper boilermaking that you will find.
