Hi Folks. This is from an email my Stepbrother sent me: I know many will say that this is nothing to do with model engineering, or even engineering, so is in the wrong section, but I beg to differ. We make miniatures of engineering items, and that is what this shows....a model of an engineering item. This is a video of an amazing artist, fashioning a glass model of the Ferrari Prancing Horse mascot. You just have to watch this to the end, It only takes 90 seconds to make, and it’s a perfect model, without any reference to drawings or photos!! I have never posted a video on here before so I hope it works out OK. Just click on the web link. Thank you Roger, for telling me how to post a link to my Flickr address for sharing the video. www.flickr.com/photos/150728055@N03/49483969022/in/album-72157712957973311/

That is amazing! I think he's done it once or twice before, don't you? Any idea what the purpose of the burning paper was, right at the end?

If ever you visit Venice give the overpriced and rammed full centre a miss and take the ferry to Murano. I can spend days wandering around the glassworks where you are encouraged to visit the shop floor and see hand made creations come to life. If you are really lucky you might get to manipulate some molten glass. The shops are full of magnificent creations costing from pennies to fortunes.

That is a true craftsman at work !!...........Lovely !!!
Ah Murano Glass !!----------So colourfull and much sought after on the TV Antique programmes.........Lalique is perhaps the French equivalent but tends to be more on the pale-looking side......In either case get your wallet out and dig deep !!

That’s just fantastic! 2 mins 20 seconds unreal!
Adrian, I brought a Murano elephant, he’s only 120mm hi, on our trip to Italy, got him home carefully wrapped & put in a shoe! He still makes me smile when I look at him!
Cheers Kerrin

When I was a small child my parents took be to Butlins at Minehead. There was a guy sat making glass animals etc using a welding torch and glass rods of various colours. I was mesmerised
