I saw this many years ago and watched a video on making it and apparently it was a nightmare to run and only just managed to make the video you see. They have since made a new one - youtu.be/tVbh_FEiF2EAdam

Not musical but when I see something like this it reminds me of a job I was involved with for Cadbury's...must be 10 years ago now..? Please forgive me if I've bored you all with this before, I just can't remember if I've shared it here in the past. youtu.be/oTgBf1KVc6E

I should have posted this one along with the first.. it's the 'making off'video ... there are even a few glimpses of yours truly... probably the clearest being operating the R/C on the planet table. We had a good team, a fairly large one too as can be seen in the video....I can't recall all of the parts that I made, I do recall that I was responsible for the mech used for the 'caveman' to swing his arm to start everything off... we didn't have long to design and construct this thing, 3, perhaps 4 weeks tops....fun days.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=485x3YhybtQPete

A few years old now. Not exactly a musical box but a very expensive way of producing mechanical music youtu.be/XRXwWbo_mX0

You have to admire the creativeness of whoever thought it up and made it!! All of them.

A dearly departed friend insulated his loft- with musical boxes. He used to wind or whatever they do with barrel organs in the main street in Newcastle to raise charitable donations in memory of his late wife. A difficult act to follow but such challenges can be attempted- withoput thought of self.
