Blackgates SPEEDY wheels or Kennions Firefly wheels both shown here to choose. Both 4' 7 1/2" And a very popular size. I am of course putting overlays on these so have reduced the middle bit on the 1500 ones where not so much weight would be needed during balancing. Lead would be poured until perfect. They only come in Yellow! David and Lily.

Merry Christmas everyone, Well when I last looked no one had replied. Many thanks for the posts. I did look at the Nigel Gresley wheels as a possibility. But was put off by them only having 14 spokes. Not having the right number of spokes would seem wrong. So I kept looking thinking some one would do a 15 spoke wheel. I like the idea of a printed pattern. Any thoughts on who could do such a thing. I am doing a very long term overhaul of a 9f which I posted on some years ago. I looked at the wheels for that, as others pointed out they have 15 spokes. Happy ‘vaccinated’ new year to everyone. Cheers Andy

Hi Andy------ these people are currently marketing 3D printed plastic kits in 3.5 ins and 5 ins gauge}----- 3dprollingstock.com/ -------- which naturally contain wheels..I'm currently building one of their 5 ins gauge GWR "Toad" Brakevans...... here are the plastic wheels as supplied ( I've opted to fit slaters steel-rimmed wheels)--------> Why not make contact and have a chat ?........Who knows, this might be a new market for them to try ?? Best of luck Alan

Somewhat inadvertently I have become involved in the SDRT this year with their problems with the WSR plc board. I very much like the S&D 2-8-0 type, and I have been very tempted to do a 3.5"g version of SDRT owned '88', now on the Watercress Line. Lovely loco and much to recommend. Cheers, Julian Second that, rode behind her on the illiminations train, sounds good to!! D
