Hi all. Absolute novice here starting a Rob Roy build. I have read the book back to front but for the life of me cant figure out what this 5/32" hole is for. Its above the leading hornslot and I know that the one to the right is for the weightshaft, but this one doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere and I can't see it on any of the included construction photos either. Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks!

That hole is for the support for the suspension lever that supports the valve crosshead.
Check the drawing for the valve gear, and it will make sense.

Forward one (i.e. the one the screwdriver is pointing to) - looks like it is for cylinder drain system shaft. The other one - looks like it is for valve gear suspension lever bearing.

I realise I meant to type suspension lever, that's the right hand one. The one I'm pointing to and was questioning is indeed for the drain cock linkage, thanks Bambuko! The Brake shaft supports and those are afterwords in the book and not even acknowledged in the section on drilling the frames in the first place!

Hi fluf and welcome to the forum. Yes many on here do know each other in real life and have met up and done visits to workshops and tracks and Exhibitions. Here is one of mine as I have 2 of them as it is easier on set ups etc. Is at a Rob Roy meet up at Andover which was fun. You even get to try one out for a run. Well the fire did not go out on me!!! Driving since 1975 so I started early. David and Lily.
