What do the electric folks favour as a neat way to connect wiring for power distribution? I'm thinking of some kind of ring or blade type busbar terminals.
This is to take power from the controller to multiple motors. I'm after something a step up from the chocbloc plastic strip with the screw terminals

I like the "Wago" type of connectors. Wilf

+1 for the Wago connectors. Cheap and you can buy them from Screwfix!

I first saw these when an electrician was doing some work in my house, tidying up some wiring that was going in a ceiling void. He said that he used these Wago connectors because the spring-loading made them more reliable where screw terminals could occasionally come loose, so better for locations where they might not be checked. I don't always use them in place of choc-block as they can be bulkier but, for example, I have quite a few on my CNC router where there can be a lot of vibration.

They definitely seem like a good solution and get good reviews by those that use them.
I've ordered a set of 5-way, 6mm2 capable ones for the task (annoyingly the choices were 3-way or 5-way).
Another good thing about their popularity seems to be decent community support for them: there are several great-looking 3d-printable mounts both surface and DIN-rail. I'll print out some surface mounts for them and post some pictures of the installation when the time comes.
Thanks for all the advice! Darren

The Wago 221 clamps arrived today and I must say I can see why people like these: a very strong holding force, easy and tool-less insertion and removal or wires, plus a shielded test point at the rear. Not the cheapest but at £6 for five of them, not ridiculously expensive either I test-printed a surface-mount holder for one which seems to work well so have just started printing off a double. Sorry for sounding thick but are these connectors connected internally. I'm in need of six one-in-two-out connectors

Yes - within each block they're all connected. So you'll need the three-hole units.

I know they are expensive for what they are but they're an awful lot cheaper than buying terminals, crimp pliers and such..... Update.... I just ordered a 10 pack of 3-ways off Amazon for £3.79 with free delivery... Bargain

Great score Les. I hope you’re happy with them Good point made too - my price comment was a bit misleading as these were the large gauge wire sort and 5-terminal both of which push the price up!
