Just started thinking of my next boiler build and i have always bought a kit of parts. But the people i have previously bought them from no longer do them. I know Reeves sold off all of their forming plates. So the question is, does anybody do boiler kits or do i have to start from scratch. Model is 7 1/4 Gooch or i think the 7 1/4" lorna doone is similar

All I can say is that when I was stocking up on parts for Locomotion, a flanged boiler kit was about £1200, but buying the materials in sheet, tube and bar form cost me just under £400 from an old established metal supplier in Birmingham. Plus an additional £50 to buy the flanging plates in Reeves sale of plates.

I stocked up with 4 kits when we came into some money for future projects last year as the price of copper rocketed. 2 from Western Steam and 2 from Blackgates.
Going back many years I got one from Reeves for £120 about 1984, funny story of getting the money out to go a long distant walk with a girlfriend then it all falling through on a breakup. I gave up with white girls after that.
