It was serialised in EIM magazine over a long period in the early two thousands.

The BR standard class 4 is a 2-6-4 tank, not 2-6-2. The Doug Hewson model was based on the BR 2-6-4 tank 80000 to 80154. By the way i have all the Engineering in Miniature mags in binders that cover the build.

So, are you saying the EiM index titling is incorrect in which case we could try to get it corrected, or are you saying the references I have given are for the wrong engine? As you have the articles, please will you confirm the volume references given are correct? My only interest was to help someone and now I am trying to make sure the information given is correct.

As i have stated, the BR standard clss 4 tank engine is a 2-6-4. The BR standard class 3 is the 2-6-2 version. As you have stated, Doug Hewson serialised the building of his 5” gauge BR class 4 2-6-4 t in the EIM in the early 2000s. The Station Road Steam website has a superb version of the Doug Hewson model for sale, so if you have £13950 down the back of the sofa.

I have requested the admin to correct the index to 2-6-4 in the hope it will help someone in future but I'm not holding my breath or bothered. The model for sale looks like a good one and in my opinion worth the money compared to other locos for sale. No response from the OP - but the mags are still for sale so perhaps not too serious about making the model?

If it’s any use, I have a drawing of the Stanier 2-6-4 with full size dimensions, from which you can scale. Send me your email in a PM and I’ll send it on.
