Hi All, Last Sunday I was at the 70th party of a musical colleague from Tynemouth and during a phone call the previous week, hobbies were mentioned, and it transpired that Joe's late father, Leo Hornsby, had built a few locos [small world isn't it ?]. Anyway , Joe brought some newspaper articles to his party to show me. The main article showed Leo with a 'Brit' albeit without smoke deflectors, which took him 8 years to build making his own castings etc and Joe does remember helping his dad cast things in the backyard. The newspaper was 1984 I think and Leo was in his 80's then. Leo used to run his loco at the local M.E. club, he also built a 'Maisie'. The Brit was loaned to the Council and was displayed at one of their offices for a number of years[ I suggested to Joe that he finds out where it is before it disappears!] Anyway, anyone remember Leo Hornsby from Tyneside ?
Ian.
