The Centre de la Mine et du Chemin de Fer in Oignies, northern france, is holding its annual festival on the weekend 28th/29th August 2010. To see what we do, look at: www.cmcf-oignies.com/We are very close to the A1 Paris-Lille motorway and only a few miles from the A26 motorway to Calais. It’s perfectly possible to come for a day-trip from southern Britain. We’re still working on the club website so if anything isn’t clear or you need more information, contact me via this site.

The UK based Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies support two rallies each year, the first being held at the track of the Leeds Society on May 15th, it was a great success with good weather and a friendly bunch of model engineers. A count of some 25 locomotives were present on the day. The second event is the 'Autumn Rally', this year being hosted by the Rugby Model Engineering Society, this is on Saturday September 18th, with the Sunday being an optional 'Open Day' for anyone staying overnight. Club details can be obtained at www.rugbymes.co.uk

On the bank holiday weekend of 29/30/31st May at the Crick Boat Show at Crick in Northants the organisers are hoping to get a presence of steam, full size or miniature to see how its received by the show goers. They have never dealt with steam before but they have been given some pointers as to what is ‘expected’, i.e. coal, expenses & water. The camping is not by the exhibits during the day but it is not far away as the show site is securely fenced. The contact is Chris Stanley. He can be contacted at chris.stanley@yahoo.co.uk or on M: 07817 312718, T: 01327 871 701. If anybody is interested please call.
