Hi - Hope it's OK to ask this sort of question here - not had much luck elsewhere due to the sizes being a bit small...
I'm looking for a source of 6mm (and 4mm) solder end caps - that is soldered (not compression) end caps for 6mm (and 4mm) OD copper pipe. 1/4" would probably do for the 6mm ones, but I can't locate any of those either.
If anyone has any idea where I can source a few, I'd be very grateful - all the usual suspects only stock from 8mm up...
Cheers
Nick

1/4" is still used for Calor (and probably other LPG) so if you have a Calor stockist in your area , it may be worth calling in to see what they stock.
Dont know about 4mm. I would just make some. Might be a lot quicker than searching for them.

Could you use plugs (inside the tube) rather than caps?

Yup - I've turned some plugs and will solder those in place. Doesn't look as good, but it'll do.
I've access to a laser cutter via my sons' school (what is the world coming to!) for the rest of the work I need to do... (takes DXF files direct from SolidEdge)
Cheers

I think you should go for the online shopping sites. Because now there are so many sites which are providing all sizes of end caps. plastic caps | end cap

Hi Nicko
Make your plugs in a top hat style so there is a shoulder to rest on the tube wall. Apply solder internally as paste or ring or a simple cut piece of solder. Flux and assemble. Heat the joint from the outside, melting the alloy and drawing it through. Result - a joint stronger than the parent materials and a challege to see the joint.
