Message to all the Aussie readers on the list. At Work we have approx 160 Litres of Castrol Perfecto T68 in a 205 Litre Drum. This is an ISO 68 (Approx SAE 25-30) Turbine oil. This oil is suitable for and specified for Spindles and gearboxes in Geared head lathes, screw compressors, steam and gas turbines and Turbochargers. IT is NOT suitable for engines. I will be using some for my Lathe and for general oiling in the workshop. If anyone would like 160 Litres of oil they are welcome to pick up from Alexandria. Or arrange transport. Any callers after a smaller quantity Free are welcome to bring their own container. contact me on abutters at ozemail dot com dot au.
Cheers
AB.

Tel. I reckon it would be excellent. I have looked up product data on chainsaw oil on mobil web site. It is an uninhibited mineral oil with no special additives. it is a little thinner than ISO 68. I used to use engine oil on my chain saw powered push bike chain, which was Ok. Didn't really need all the detergent and dispersant and TBN additives but it was a small amt of oil and that is what I had. Perfecto is a high quality base oil with anti oxidants and anti foam additives approx SAE 25. ISO 68 cSt, And guess what. Any luck I will be doing a job in Bathurst in about 2 - 3 weeks. If you wan't the lot I will gladly put the drum in the back of the Ute and drop it off Wouldn't mind the drum back though if you have containers for storing the oil. (Been trying to tie up a job up that way for ages so I could drop in and Say G'day.)
