Hi,
I am in the process of constructing a 3.5" Virginia.
However I did hear that in a later version of the small boiler version that LBSC had modified the drawings to add some weight under the firebox as an aid to adhesion on the track?
Does anyone know of this mod or have any details on it?
Sorry but I've had to cross post this one as nobody on the loco forum seems to know the answer.

I have heard of the need for added weight, which is not unusual, so I would make provision for some extra metal whilst building, then when it is running, add whatever, where it is needed.
There was also some details missing from the braking system. (Possibly not on all drawings.) Some years ago I did sketch out my version of the missing parts, and if you are building it with brakes and if your drawings also have that information missing, I will see if I still have my sketches. Nothing complicated, just copies of similar brake parts of other locos so you could also work it out for yourself.

Hi alanstepney,
Thanks very much for the info and the tiip on the braking system.
I'll check my drawings and get back to you if I need more details.
