Hi Folks, I would like to add bushes to an LBSC 'unbushed' backhead but on the regulator I am a little tight for space. I propose to replace the original 9/16" dia clearance hole with a 3/4" dia hole for a 7/8" dia bush. Whilst this is an improvement on screwing straight into the 13g backhead, it does means that the fixing screws threads are partly in the bush and partly in the backhead. (I tried to link some images but without success and cannot upload directly despite both JPEGS being much less than 1mb) Thoughts please... Dave

As Paul says rearranging fittings on backhead is best solution .
If however this can't be done there are ways to at least ease your problem with regulator flange .
Fitting studs half in flange and half in backhead is not a good thing to do .
A possibility is to use a flange which is not simply round . Any of square , hex , scalloped and lobed shapes will usually fit into narrower gaps and still give solid metal for studs and at reasonable PCD .

Here are your pics As I said elsewhere it looks like your drawing has the hole ctr 1/2" from the top of the wrapper not 1/2" from the top of the backhead flange which will give you more room to play with. Easiest option is to make the hole 13/16" and the bush to match which will stop the holes breaking through and you can still use 7/8" overall.
