Today I completed and fitted the window frame to the spectacle plate on the fireman's side which just about completes the basic cab sides. The next job will be to make the rear of the cab and doors. jim

Fitted new bulb in oven (following yesterdays paint hardening exercise). All functioning correctly again. Have now vacated the dog house. Regards Paul

Went to Llanelli's Summer Gala - Summer Gale more like!
Did a few laps and thought it would be wise to come off as I could hardly see the gauges. The only happy one in my family was the dog who got to swim in the sea.
Never mind, the Autumn Rally is in September and fine weather must be on the way at some bl**dy time.
Pete.

Spent the week doing the impossible...apparently... Someone once told me it was impossible to get the 5-speed gearbox and transfer box from a Land Rover Defender into the transmission tunnel of a Land Rover Series 3... Fool... One week later, my Series 3 has got a Defender 5-speed gearbox and transfer box from a Defender, and the only clue is the slightly further back main gear lever Impossible my arse....

it hasnt stopped raining here for nearly 5 days. i have thought about starting to build an Ark. instead, yesterday i made some new steam cones to replace those for the Chiverton injectors on JJ's lovely 5"g Brit. the medium sized injector was a bit of a mess and was non 'standard' so required use of the grey cells to sort out. the small injector was 'standard' and didnt take too long. it follows on from the following thread modeleng.proboards.com/thread/10872/cleaning-miniature-loco-injectors?page=1when (perhaps if) it stops raining they will get tested. cheers, julian

It is not what I did, it is that my younger Grandson rode his two wheeler for the first time this afternoon. First step to being a good model engineer!! And if yesterday counts, got the Princess back in action with her new main axle. This was of course with the help of two of our members Danny and Eddie who can ride two wheelers and are therefore very good MEs!!!! D

Bit of a maintenance afternoon in the workshop. My Griptru wasn't right so I've adjusted that up, now got just less than half a thou runout, that's good enough for me. Few other bits tidied up and finished off, then turned the pump eccentric for the MW. Was going to make the studs to hold the strap together so I could bore that out, but apparently I didn't get the 3/16" silversteel after all!

Finished off a support for my rolls yesterday. Going up in the world, Ed? I thought you had a landrover. Steve

Ok, this was yesterday but I thought I'd better ask permission before uploading this video of my friend's engine that was at the Charity Fundraiser where I was showing 1501.

Ed's rollers modification....the increased height prevents your knuckles being scrapped on the workbench when turning the handle.
Yesterday made 10 dummy washout plugs for the cladding on Doris' Belpaire firebox.

Had a good run at Frimley Model engineers with Ayesha. Lots of tea and good chatting. The raised track is a nice set up, a little bit unnerving at first running over the bit were you are 6 or so feet in the air!
