Southern Fed Autumn Rally in Southampton Sep 19th - Join us!

Hi All

Just a week to go for the Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies Autumn Rally at Southampton. (pause for breath!!) Yes September 19th a Saturday with more to follow on the Sunday

Do come and join us for what we hope will be a great party to start to bring the running season to a close. You may well meet old friends and probably make new ones. We are not gauge prejudiced so 3 ½” can race the 7 ¼” and the 5” can mind their own business in between. Lunch (BBQ) is on us. Traction engines and steam lorries can road the park or join the campers inside the track.
We have a great kid’s play area next to the track, lots of long walks along the river, soccer and cricket fields etc. Not all part of the Southampton Society of course but we have space! Also there is a very special retail therapy centre at West Quay. We will have Arcadia and Queen Mary 2 in on the Sunday 20th .
So throw caution to the wind, bring your loco and have a good day out. And by the way, this weekend is due to be horrible so the next one will be great!!

After cancelling my plan to go due to someone calling on me at 12.00, he changed his plan and turned up at 10.00. Hemce it was early enough for me to pop over to Southampton.

Good to meet the forum members who were there, and to have a brief chat with some of you.

(And the refreshments were excellent, well done Southampton.)

Many thanks to David (Midland) and his club members for their outstanding hospitality and patience. It was good to meet Alan Stepney at last and have a good chat.
Altogether a really pleasant day.

I'm delighted that David and Co. made you all welcome and I wish I could have been there myself. However, the Algarve right now is very pleasant indeed and I am staying put!
