The only reason I picked it up is that I'm planning on giving a talk at my club on making injectors and I remembered this very informative thread and I thought I would read it through to try and pick up some subject mater.
My attempt at making injectors wasn't without problems before I got them working, I made the first and had it tested and to my surprise it worked the next four were all duds, the reason being is that I fitted the steam cones before D biting them and this swelled the cone and lost the annular gap, so I reversed the sequence of manufacture this sorted out that problem, then on one of them I fitted the combination cones in with too much high temp loctite blocking the holes so that had to have new cones made.
I have some more 3/8 brass bar to have a go at making some more, but that won't be until the mood takes me in the mean time I'm busy working on my 2-6-0 Horwich Crab nominally to Don Young's Design
