It would be hilarious if it wasn't so annoying. The items which are the subject of my previous post have now arrived. BUT in the envelope (which incidentally was split half-way down one side due to being inadequate for the contents included) were also two books entitled 'Love folk & country quilting' with paperwork for a Jenny Bohm of Worthing, West Sussex! Presumably Ms Bohm will be as frustrated with Myhobbystore as I am! Am I to waste time and expense trying - not very successfully if past experience is anything to go by - to contact the total muddlers at said organisation, or shall I sell my lathe and mill and take up quilting? Perhaps someone on this website would care to enlighten me? John Fearnley.

Those with an interest in CNC control could look into the engineering side of quilting.
There are machines that are just standard sewing machines with an elongated arm, where the fabric is supported in a frame that is manipulated under XY computer control.
But I have toyed with constructing a device with static fabric, and independent stitch assemblies, upper and lower, being computer guided and synchronised.

Wilf Long Arm quilters - bet you didn't think I'd know about them too! Paul Ingram is a member of this forum and his good lady has such a machine....I'm sure both could point you in the right direction should you wish to choose a new hobby!

Thank you both for the kind suggestions. On the whole though, I think its easier to stick with making swarf. Not so sure about the unfortunate lady who is minus her quilting books - perhaps we should suggest she buys a lathe? John.
