Following on from previous years RMES is again holding an open invite weekend to members of all clubs with road and rail steam. Our Chairman informs me we're hosting it on the Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th of June, anyone travelling to Nottingham on the 4th for their Pacific day (like me!) might like to pop down to use for a run on the Sunday too. Further details will be posted as they are passed to me

I hope to join you Ed. Have you added another extension to the extension?
Pete.

There is another extension laid, but at present it's not connected. To make best use of it we first need some more carriages, which we're in the process of building, so that we can increase the number of sets in use on a public running day. If we were to connect it in now but run the same number of trains, they'd be out on the circuit for longer, meaning less available rides/hour, meaning a decrease in our revenue. If we can add another 2 or 3 trains to the existing compliment then we can use the extra length without loosing money. The full final intended layout will then effectively be a third extension but requires the manufacture or another 8 or so points, so far we've only built the prototype!

A few guys from Oxford are looking at coming to this on the Saturday with around 4 locomotives, all narrow gauge, 3 Hunslet's and a Baldwin all being well.
