just a quick one gentlemen,under southern fed rules, can a boiler inspector test and certify his own boiler please?

Just to be a tad pedantic here, you can test your own boiler as many times as you like, you can't certify it though.
I urge our member's to test their own boilers before presenting them for the official test, doing so can save a red face and a wasted trip for the inspector.

Waggy. Agreed , its a huge relief to know that the boiler is in a fit state to be tested, blocked off and all fitting connections to hand.
We did a full hydraulic and steam test at home the week before.Made for an enjoyable afternoon with friends and closer to the workshop for this and that.
Could not think of anything worse than turning up, setting up and it all goes pear shaped, well it could literially!
