As the Entertainment Sec of Bracknell Railway Society, i have the remit of getting speakers for the memebers Can anybody recommend anybody, No particular subject, will take anything transport orientated, (large and small) and, if they are good enough, non transport! Just as a tasty, i can recommend, esp if you want to bring the good ladies, a chap called Alan Copeland from the High Wycombe Area, on Curiosities around the country, very entertaining, non transport. Any suggstions most welcome Thanks

There is (was?) a website where someone listed speakers willing and able to speak at (model engnineering) clubs. I dont have it in my "favourites" but perhaps someone else here does....

Try Tony Finns Talk Exchange site. Its at www.finn-aj.freeserve.co.uk/tex.html it was set up to provide a list of speakers for Model Engineering Societies to use. I've got a couple of talks on there, says he blowing his own trumpet perhaps a bit off key. There are others though

SF,
As you're close to the bright lights consider getting someone down there to join the SMEE. I see quite a few interesting topics being presented but it's a bit of a mission getting there from out here in the sticks.
Maybe you can subvert some of their speakers if you can cover their expenses.

I think Silverfox was saying there is no list of speakers that he can see on the Colin Usher site, I can't either . The Tony Finn Talk Exchange site has been running for some years now it is probably the one that Alan was refering to. The front page has a request asking speakers to sign up. Most of the speakers are from north of the Thames however so may not be suitable for the Bracknell Society.
