Have a chance of an as new Sealey milling machine at a very good price, not sure what that means or which model but it's never been used according to the owner, any one know anything about the quality/accuracy/usefulness of these millers before I start driving all over Wales to look at it?

The current model - Sealey SM2502 looks remarkable like a Sieg X2 to me, at £592.15 it's not the cheapest version and like all the Chinese imports it has it's limitations - mind you it's considerably more capable than my X1 A couple of bods in here have X2's - Tel for one for sure.

Thanks Andrew he say's it is on a stand so it could be an SM25, he now says £500 would buy it so if it is going to be a bargai it has to be at least an SM2502 on a decent stand.

Chester do the X2, they call it a Conquest, at £319 delivered, Arc Euro have discontinued it and I can't see it on the Warco site.
The Chester version is slightly different, has a lever arrangement for Z support instead of the gas strut, I can't remember which is supposed to be best.
Try the Yahoo group X_Series_Mills for some users of this kit.
Mind you tooling will set you back the same again so if some of that is thrown..... ;D
Cheers, Andy

Done some more home work and it is an SM25 complete with all the bits and a brand new manual unopened, since no one has posted anything adverse on the Sealy product it looks a good buy will be looking at it early next week.

That's a bit more like it, certainly sounds like a bargain ;D If you need a negotiating tactic you could point out that Chester do a very similar product - the Eagle 25 for less than £850 with the stand and a similar set of accessories.
Good luck, Andy

Got It and it looks great, don't know a thing about milling machines never evber used on but this one still has the manufacturers grease/oil on it and is quite new never been run, the manual is unopened, price was as agreed so I am a bit chuffed with my bargain.
Many thanks Andrew for your input. Syd

You're welcome Syd, happy new toy!
I found Harold Hall's 'Milling a Complete Course' which is no 35 in the Workshop Practice Series useful when I got my mill.
Cheers, Andy
