Has anyone built, or know of someone who has built, the 7 1/4" gauge Dean single to the Clark drawings?
I am re-drawing the parts electronically, and assembling them as I go to make a general arrangement drawing. However, there seems to be an error, as the driving wheels are clear of the railhead by about 5/16".
The driver positions are fixed by the centreline of the motion, and the height of the frames are set by the bogie supports.
If I raise the trailing wheels to align with the drivers, very little thread is left exposed on the spring support pins - so that seems the wrong thing to do.
I'd love to hear how anyone else has coped with this.
Thanks....Steve
