Hi Everyone,
Newby here, Name is Mark and although I'm not new to model Engineering I have just started my own build. Toolmaker by trade so using machines etc is not a problem. I have a small workshop but my Dad has a full workshop if I need anything I have not got.
I picked up a started 5" gauge Adams o2 from a popular auction site. Lot consisted of frames, driving wheels, cylinders and a professionally made boiler. On closer inspection the frames where all over the place so I purchased some laser cut frames and started again. Same with the driving wheels as they were all different sizes and thicknesses. Cylinders seem to be ok although the steam inlet on top of the steam chamber is at the wrong end.
Following Steve's "Calbourne" build very closely, Just finished the bogie assembly, the springs were an interesting little job.
Anyways, thanks for letting me be part of a fantastic group.
All the best
Mark

I have joined this forum today. I am a novice who has been given a Myford ML7 from 1964. It has been in the possession for the same person for all bar its first 5 years. I intend to upgrade it with a quick change tool post and a DRO. The ways are in good nick but the rear thrust bearing on the headstock I think could be replaced as I can see some pitting in one of the races. I intend replacing the.apron bushes and gears too. Getting hold of the thrust bearing is looks to be a problem- nothing to see online. I would appreciate any help available.

Hello everyone,
Just joined the forum but been a guest for some time now. Based in Manchester with a growing interest in steam locomotives.
I have a question to ask but I’ll start a new thread later.
All the best,
Fiddler
