I'm new here. And very keen to learn. I have a 3.5" Brit - which will need attention.

I'm a competent race car engineer and live steam locomotive are a new'ish fascination. From an engineering perspective, it would appear they are far in advance of internal combustion engines. And quite apart from that, they have a movie star appeal that has never been bettered.
I have purchased a 3.5" Britannia and I'm slowly figuring out what does what. Though, I'd rather learn from an expert. If there is anyone near London Sw2. Let me know.

Hi maxspeed and welcome to the forum! There are a couple of us on here with 3 1/2" Britannia's - simplyloco has his in build and I am restoring my Grandad's engine, so also starting pretty new to the hobby. With someone coming in to model engineering it is a good idea to also join your local society or club to get help and advice. You are fortunate that there are four that I know of within driving distance (or bus journey) of SW2: - Sutton (the nearest); - Croydon, Selsdon; - Welling, Falconwood; - Malden, Thames Ditton. Don't be afraid to ask questions on here - I've received plenty of good advice and encouragement plus been inspired by the numerous build threads. Hopefully we'll see your engine add to that Regards, Dan

I have my grandfathers that I use now and then and its a great little engine, as Dan says ask questions and someone will have an answer or two for you.
Open a thread, start it with a photo of your loco and post your questions and queries.
