Welcome to the forum.. there are a number of professional boiler makers out there, some of which are members of this forum, I'm sure that you'll find all the help/advise that you need....

A boiler might seem complicated but it really isn't and at 3 1/2 inch gauge everything is relatively easy to handle. It's just about having the right advice and maybe a little help with heating etc but there's nothing really complicated. My first boiler was a 3 1/2 inch Hall and I did nearly everything on my own with some help when doing the final assembly. It's not the prettiest boiler but it works and it gave me the confidence to tackle a 5 inch boiler next. Ian

Hi bmk If you have the Photobucket 'fix' for your browser then you might find something useful in my old boiler build thread 'Brit Progress:Boiler Plates'. Making the combustion chamber boiler was quite straightforward, but I screwed up on the final heat and am now the proud owner of a TIG welded boiler from Steam Technology... BTW welcome!
