Hi am a new member and from kent ,l am at present building a 3/4" inch scale steam tractor, but for ages have wanted to have a go at a steam loco, and have been looking at a set of drawings l think were printed in ME about 1954 ? its a A gauge o steam loco for beginners , am l on the right path with this for my first loco build, advice from the experts would be most welcome, but l do like the look of it.Also as it wont be put on rails, apart from a short length for it to stand on ,could l double the scale ? hope this makes sense , l did have a look round some sites and have looked at wheel castings again help here would be great or do l make my own wheels.

Since you'll be putting a lot of effort into the project, wouldn't it be more fun to end up with something that moves?

Hi, perhaps someone at Proboards can verify this, but as the members name is in white does that not indicate they have left ? Regards Paul

Hi Paul It doesn't appear in white in my view because I have changed the colours to a less eye straining set of colours, a point to remember the colours you see might not be what others see. However to answer your question 'johnboy' does not appear on the list of members any more. Rather strange behaviour to post once and then disappear.

George, thank you for that information. Like you I had already checked the members list so was not basing my assumption purely on the colour, as you say strange. Regards Paul

Hi Paul
Yes...when the ID changes from yellow to white it means the member has left...note also that the post count is reset to 'zero'...
cheers
Pete

Thanks Pete, as George says it just seems strange that they left so quickly. Regards Paul

Was there not a fuss some years ago about a character who posted as a newbie and then turned up with multiple log ins and then disappeared when rumbled. Might be something out moderators might wish to examine a little more closely!! D
