Just a brief update on this little known society. We are looking to raise our profile slightly and a couple of members have been having extra working parties to improve the track site ready for next years running days. we generally run on the Third Sunday of each month and visitors are welcome either with or without an engine. usual rules apply! We have just created a Facebook page which is visible even to those that aren't users on Facebook, This will be updated with news and events from the club. If you are on facebook give the page a like to keep abreast of the news! www.facebook.com/mmdmes/

Hi Steve. Thanks for making us aware of your existence and what looks to be a very appealing track. I for my sins am the Company Secretary at Sutton Coldfield Model Engineering Society and If you have no objections I will advise our members of your invitation. It may be that some are already aware as we have a few members who venture out and about, I wish you the very best with your plans. Regards Paul.

That would be great, all we ask is that contact is made before hand let us know if anyone wants to visit! The track isn't big, but we are a friendly bunch and its a laid back few hours of running... I visited your track a few years ago with my Polly on a cold winters day and much fun as had! Steve

Good luck with your club's endeavours Steve.
That Jessie looks remarkably like the one (same shade of green) I sold to a guy in the Nottingham club a few years ago. Lovely runner.
Pete.

This one came from a guy at Wortley Top forge, not sure of its history before that. Steve

Hi Steve, the site looks great following the tidy up. Always liked the MM&D - was a member many years ago and always enjoyed the meetings. Bit of a trek for me really (I'm also a member at Nottingham) but considering rejoining to have an alternative place to run. Ian

A meeting of minds! Today a meeting was held at the Whissendine track site to discuss proposals for an extension to the ground level 5" and 7.25" track. A number of ideas have been bounced around to pretty much double the length from our current 550 feet to just over 1000 feet of mainline. Work will almost certainly involve improving the steaming bay facilities too. This decision along with plans already to fully finish the new club building before the June 1st and 2nd open weekend will drastically improve facilities for our members and visitors. All this is without taking our eye off the ball with general site housekeeping and maintenance. New members are always welcome if you fancy coming and getting stuck in! There is always work to be undertaken no matter what skills you have... Here's to making 2019 our best year yet! SP.

Hi Steve. Worth noting that a Google search still brings up the old site first in the listings. Is it worth putting a note on that home page to direct people to your new site. Ian

Let me know and we can get you sorted. What Hunslet is it you have? Regards Steve

Yes we will be passenger hauling, that's an excellent sized loco for the line and one of our members has one too. That would be great if you can join us. you might have seen on my 'saga of a sipat' thread that I am rushing to get my loco back together in time because I believe the numbers are low for passenger hauling locos this year Regards Steve
