Recently retired so now have time for all the engineering and renovation projects I have lined up. I have also come into the possession of a part built 5" gauge Stirling single 4-2-2 and as I assess its state and the drawings I am getting more and more out of my depth. I'm hoping all the experts on this site will be able to help me out!

Welcome Mike
The stirling is my second favourite loco, I'm sure that you'll enjoy the build. Others here have built it and should be able to help when required..
Regards
Pete

Hi Mike and welcome........The full-size loco seems to have a very elegant appearance from a time long since passed by....either when stationary or on the move and your model captures this very well I think........In 5 inch gauge it's a well known design with quite a few running... Technically it's a simple and straight forwards loco with a basic valve gear and NO coupling rods to worry about.... YES, do join your local ME club and keep us here informed as well please.... Have a look at these}---------- youtu.be/TxMIPzCryuQ --------- youtu.be/zit3VU0muOIyoutu.be/dwOkPtN3F9o
