Hi John, No surprise to see you are still creating engineering masterpieces! Just caught up on this and the Brit. Hope all is well with you and yours. Terry Hi Terry PM sent John

As you well know, I know nothing when it comes to boiler work John, but to my untrained eye that looks rather neat! Sent you a rather rambling PM in response to yesterdays's PM. Terry

I didn't need the heating on in my workshop today! Phew! Locating the dome with 10BA CSK screws DSC00667 by inkaboat, on Flickr Cleaning up before assembly DSC00668 by inkaboat, on Flickr Locating the innards with one 10BA screw DSC00669 by inkaboat, on Flickr Top fittings soldered at 650-715 C DSC00670 by inkaboat, on Flickr One end done! I didn't have any wire left to make rings, so I was poking at this red hot mass with a 2mm diameter stick!, hence the landscape. I find this modern stuff to be a bit pasty when compared with Easyflo. Still, that's progress for you... I don't mind what it looks like as it will have a nice cover over it! DSC00673 by inkaboat, on Flickr

Thanks for the attention and the 'likes'. I found some wire this evening, so tomorrow's effort at the other end might look a little more elegant! John

Yes indeed! This is a project (not another project?) that has emerged despite my resisting but then some some barge their way. Not wishing to spoil John's thread, in due course all will be revealed. I can tell you that I am banned from lifting anything heavier than a glass of wine, including said wine, so SimplyLoco helped rearrange the work shop yesterday so that the current project is on top, see Aspinal thread in the other place!!!
Cheers David

Boiler Feed PumpMy little boiler needs a hand pump for testing and subsequent feeding, so today's job - yes, it took all day!- was this little pump. It is, in fact, the Brit tender pump, so I have killed two birds with one stone. I didn't have any 7/16" SS for the piston, but I had some 1/2" bronze which turns beautifully. I've made all the plugs for the boiler, so it will be a testing time this weekend! WP_20190110_17_08_09_Pro by inkaboat, on Flickr

I'd be delighted if I managed to make that in a week!
