Welcome Wolfie, is there a particular brand of ME you like - Locos, Stationary tools etc? We all like pictures of current and past models, please feel free. Info on posting pictures under the general tab!

Hi Graham
You'll find a wealth of helping hands here as you progress into the hobby. Model engineering covers many subjects, please feel free to share with the group your particular interest, I'm sure that you will find others doing the same thing who may be able to help with any questions that may appear along the way.
Welcome sir..
Pete

Hi, It's much better than london. Did you get to the market? (Wed,Fri&Sat) I cannot confirm, nor deny my involvement in one or two during my drunken rampages

Welcome sir.. Pete Hi Pete, The family and i went to Leeds SMEE, Shame about them losing their ground. Met a great group of people. As for my interests, well i've done the odd bits here and there. Couple of Stuart engines, a hit n miss, but nothing large scale. After the LSMEE visit and seeing how much the "Trouble & Lids" (yeah thats real cockney rhyme-n-slang) enjoyed it. I've decided on a train and not a tractor. During a conversation with her indoors, im looking for a train plans for a 2-8-2 or a 4-6-0. Mainly because we want to name it after her father "Minko" or Aunt "Rouja" which were names given to 2 trains from Bulgaria.

There were not many 2-8-2 (among others LBSC's 'Zoe' springs to mind, but I've never seen one). 4-6-0 are much more prevalent, there is a (not very comprehensive) list here:

We got to Oldham early the next day and as the Exhibition was not yet open set out as the only Englishman for miles to explore! Found the Market and among the sellers found a local who took pity and sold us a lovely hammer and some Ashpan friendly bent long nosed pliers. Now people crossed the road to avoid the new arrivals as we carried them back to the car. We were still early and got tickets 001 and 002! Lovely show but not many visitors on the Sunday. Spent far too much, got caught on You Tube spending via a card and met many great people.
