Hello all, ive just bought a part built virginia from a club member, the boiler was made and shell tested in 2007,since then its been sat under the bench while other things got in the way,
Now my question is, is the shell test still valid, or does it have to be done again?
Many Thanks
George

The boiler testers should answer that but I think a valid cert is for the life of the boiler. Mine is! David

Thank you for your reply David, it would appear no boiler testers come in this section.

Just seen this thread. As a boiler inspector for the Andover Society I would treat the shell test certificate as valid unless there are any caveats on it, and would only expect to do a one and a half times test when the boiler is installed. However that is assuming that there is no further need to heat the boiler for silver soldering attachments to it.
