Hello, whilst I apprenticed as a sheet metal fabricator (about 30 years ago) I'm a complete newbie to model engineering, and after many years building boats and submarines I've decided to finally try what I've always wanted to do, I've always hankered after steam and really like the Bagnall style of loco.
Having spent the last few months cutting back the wilderness that was the garden of my new home and evicting the local foxes I now have a rather barren 20x60m strip of mud, that in the current weather looks like the Somme. However my intent is to build a modest 7.25 garden railway, a Bagnall and a train of wagons and I'll be a happy chap.
This site and the local MES are hopefully a mine of info and resources for my build over the next few years.. or more..
Many thanks in advance and sorry for the daft questions

Hi from the Reading Club and just got Jessie (Part Built) They are 7 1/4 0-4-0 saddle tank engines. We are in Tilehurst with a getting wild garden due to not doing garden things to it and spending the green bin money on castings!!! Reading has 7 1/4 ground level and we are a friendly bunch.
Best regards.

Hi Dave,
The Jessie looks a nice solid loco, sounds a good buy!
Once the carnage of the holidays is over I'd like to some along to Reading and have a look-around, armed with questions!!77
Cheers

Hi Steve,
In January we have 3 Club Runnings starting at 11:00 on the 1st Wednesday 11th Saturday and the 25th also Saturday. These are often quiet in the colder months and we have lots of time for tea and chats.
David and Lily.

Steve You are very near two societies both located together One is the Bracknell Railway Society which has 3.5 and 5in raised track in Jocks Lane recreation park The other is Pinewood Miniature railway with a 5in and 7.25vground level track Both are located in the Pinewood Leisure Centre off Old Wokingham Road ( The BRS has its HQ there) Directions from Sandhurst Turn right at the Village Inn and forward on to the far end of Crowthorne High St and turn right towards Bracknell Forward to roundabout and turn left there. Forward to next Roundabout and take second exit (12.00) Entrance to the centre is on the left and is well signposted. The BRS building is over in the far corner. The Pinewood track is behind it meeting at BRS are Fri eves. the Pinewood website is www.pinewoodrailway.co.uk/Hope that helps Rom
