Posting this on behalf of a friend who has just joined “our” society, he has just purchased this loco from station road steam ( stock code 8865 ) it’s still listed under projects on their website. The problem we have is with the boiler,( no paper work what so ever ) it doesn’t look professional made and has no markings anywhere that I can see. It appears to have had several owners over the years, I was posting this in anticipation that someone might have information regarding this loco? So can anybody shed any light on this subject? The new owner has passed his information onto station road steam hoping that whoever sold it to them can make contact with him. Many thanks in advance Chris

The boiler is TIG welded copper which points to it being made by Steam technology steamtechnology.co.uk/ There should be a number stamped on the boiler, speak to Steam Technology and give them the number, they should be able to provide copies of the paperwork I was interested in this loco a few weeks ago, it appears to be somewhere between an un-rebuilt B12 with the decorative splashers and a rebuilt B12 with the round top boiler. It looks like the previous owner has tried to modify the cleading and cab spectacle plate to give the appearance of the earlier style boiler

I’ve seen examples of Tig welded boilers at exhibitions possible Steam Technology but the standard I saw was a lot better than “ours”? Cheers Chris

Little bit of an update boiler didn’t pass its test, leaking firebox stay so I believe, so it’s being returned to the supplier shame. Regards Chris

That's a shame Chris, such a good looking prototype and rare in 5" gauge.

Back on station road steam site now, the chap that purchased this one now has a Super Simplex, it was my Super Simplex he’s an old friend and he and the loco have joined the Portsmouth club. Alas it was in GWR colours shortly however it will be black! Still in isolation never worked so hard since retiring! The management keep finding me jobs to do so “I don’t get bored” fat chance!! Stay safe and “busy “ Chris
