Hallo Woodworkers I need to do some very fine and sensitive woodwork using 6 x 0.5 mm sawblades, with some rather small radii. Is it possible to slow down an AXMINSTER AC1400B BANDSAW somehow? I have the feeling that the bandsaw runs a bit too fast for these fine blades. I could to back to a manual fretsaw, but I'd hate that... Thanks Johannes

I looked into using a motor and gearbox from a Disabled Buggy. They go down to quite a slow speed. Yes I am looking into slowing one of mine down for metal cutting. In fact having taken both gearboxes off the motors One could be fitted to an ordinary 1,425 RPM 230 volt motor.
My Electric creation that uses the motors via a belt was mentioned in Model Engineer!!
