I wonder if you can help me. I inherited a part built Stuart Turner Major Beam Engine which I am now trying to finish. I have found that one of the inlet passageways in the cylinder casting is blocked solid, can you give me advice on how to clear it?

Assuming it is casting sand then the usual technique is to poke around with a needle to loosen it then blast it with some high pressure air to clear it.
I feel the need to mention the Stuart Major Beam is not a beginners engine, there are a number of features that are very challenging for even an experienced model engineer.

I tend to use a bit of fuse wire a sit gets round the bends that something more rigid won't. Ultrasonic cleaner will also do if you have one.
