Well I am arguably the least expert of model engineers, however, I knew my professional working stuff very well indeed. I have to say I have encountered 100% support on here, and that ties in with my working attitude which was always to take time with people learning the job.
We all step outside our "comfort zone" at some point and sneering from someone who could be helping is the most destructive thing ever.
This good to read. As a new member I'd be off straight away if I felt I was being ridiculed
Dear Jinks They are a weird lot here. Some are very good and helpful and modest. Some aren't, you pick up the situation by lurking for a while. You will find that I am not very good, try to be helpful occasionally and modesty, what a dirty word. There are a lot of very good threads with a veritible mountain of advice, examples and ways of doing things and after all we are all learning. Watch out for a suspicious character known as 'Roger', he is from a strange sect that does 'metric' speak. Good luck David aka Midland
The Princess of Wales is well and happy, with the 990 alongside. The Princess Royal almost has a ticket. The Aspinal emerges. A little 3 1/2" 4F waits birth and we still need a rake of clerestory coaches. Southampton Society of Model Engineers www.southamptonsme.org
