Hi all. I am a new member living in Wiltshire. I am building a DY Hunslet and I have joined after viewing the present thread by Malcolm on his Hunslet build. My project is some years in the making but had not progressed very far because other events had taken more of my time. Lockdown has given me the time to progress the build. On viewing Malcolm's thread I can see how much of a novice I am at engineering, it has led me to consider re-making some parts. I am a retired Wheelwright/Coach Restorer, so I am in a different skill field. Sadly my mentor in the hobby died last year which left me looking for help but with present circumstances I have just got on with it hence the consideration of making some parts again. I also have a part built Hunslet chassis, drawings and photocopies of LLAS by DY available.

Welcome to the mad house! Malcolm is doing great work on his Hunslet and I'm sure along with others would be happy to help and advice. Best thing is check out this page on how we post photos and then start your own thread in the General Chat section so we can all follow your build with interest. We all have varying skill levels so don't be afraid to post whatever it is you make - good, bad or the down right ugly we all do it and learn from it. Most importantly, enjoy it! Adam

Where are you in Wiltshire? I'm on the Dorset/Wiltshire border but attend the WWSME in Westbury who have been no end of help with my builds. Welcome!

Welcome, there is an abundance of knowledge on here. Also a varied level of skills so if in doubt just ask, I am sure someone will help. Regards Paul. p.s. Photos are good and as the saying goes worth a thousand words.
