Are you a member of the Cardiff club? I was really looking forward to their June Rally but not to be this year. Pete.

Hi Tudur I live in Barry so have a look at the Bridgend track before you make a decision. It is a 1/2 mile long ground level 5 inch and 7.25 inch gauge track with a challenging gradient within a nature reserve so we have a lot of interesting woodland around us. Also we are an extremely friendly bunch as I have found out this last year since losing my wife. It would be nice to meet you when you feel ready. Ed

Ed,
So sorry to hear that sad news. Glad that the Bridgend club is able to provide support. I visited there a few years ago and thought it was a fabulous set-up.
Pete.

I started at my MES due to a family bereavement, and I couldn't have asked for a more friendly and supportive bunch.

Being ENGLISH and having a Chinese Wife did not exactly make me very welcome at the Cardiff Club several years ago. Far too many BEERS among the younger VERY WELSH members saw outright RACISM AIMED TOWARDS BOTH OF US. I listened with interest away in the darkness.
By 1.00 in the morning they had received 3 warnings from older members!!!
Bridgend sounds a lovely club well worth the extra mile. As are Urmston. Rugby. Oxford. Reading of course. Bracknell. Pinewood. Fareham. Plymouth. That we have visited. The Jury is still out on Guildford after many visits things seem to have changed there?

Very disappointed to hear about that David and Lily. It should have been sorted on the spot and the people involved severely dealt with. No time for people like that. Pete.

Due to these new Gov. restrictions, l can no longer go to my club. I would not be able to go to Cardiff either. I feel like I have had both my arms cut off as well as my legs. People like us are not considered in the new regulations. Shutting whole boroughs down is causing many problems. I do not even know where the boundaries are as I am driving along!

Very sorry to hear that about Cardiff. I have lectured there several times. They did reject a couple of Bridgend members who they considered 'unsuitable', as I understand it. I was surprised as they are both great guys and very talented.

Losing limbs isn't too bad, I can now steal the left shoes from the display outside of shoe shops.

the Cardiff club is so close i could walk to it !!!! Whatever club you choose Turdur I am sure you will enjoy the company. At least Cardiff is in your lockdown area so you will not be shut out. Model engineers are a great bunch and thank goodness it is still a fairly popular hobby. Ed
