I have a Wizard lathe in complete condition except for the tailstock clamp which is missing. Is there a close-up picture or drawing that shows the shape of the clamping piece please?

If it is a Lane of Houghton le Spring see Lathes.co.uk which will tell you more than I.
I suspect that the plate is nothing but a piece of plate to fit between the No2 and 3 shears.
There was a similar lathe owned by my next door neighbour in Lombard Drive, Chester le Street. If you are stuck, possibly there are either his family ot his brother's who lived next door to each other who still survive.
My old Durham Mason's Yeasr Book gives a note of both brothers( eith the same initial D on the list in 2006
So Best of Luck

Thank you Goldstar31, My version is an original early type with Wizard cast on the bed. The 'lock' I have is a shaped bolt head that grips when tightened but Lathes.co.uk shows a proper looking metal clamp.
I really wondered if the bolt was original, if so a cheep way out.

That's ok Norman, I'm sure I can make something to do the job in a more professional maner. There is a lot of pleasure to be had from restoring these old tools to a useable condition.
