Hello,
I'm looking for contact details for a model traction engine club in the North East, having recently been told by the club tester that he wouldn't have time to perform a hydraulic test on my 2" Durham and North Yorkshire boiler. I am looking for a new club, as I feel I am been constantly fobbed off. Before anyone says yes I know there is the current situation, but after an announcement that a test day was happening this Sunday and strictly four test slots were available for tests. I enquired about the Durham been tested.
I know that I cant perform the test and certify the boiler myself, as that's against the regs. Also I cant progress the build much until the boiler is signed off as safe, as everything bolts to the boiler, so a couple of months down the line id be waiting before I could do much more on the project, but while I have the enthusiasm to get on with it I was hoping to progress it to the stage of "on its wheels", hornplates, bearings, and smokebox fitted.
If anyone has some contact details for a traction engine club, id be happy to get in touch with them.
Regards Jon
