A short introduction.
During my working life I started off an an apprentice Electrical Fitter and ended up as Senior engineer doing aircraft electronic systems stuff. Oh and I was born and lived for my first 20yrs next to the old SER loco works in Ashford.
I completed a enlarged 'Titch' (0-6-0 saddle tank) in 1987 plus a smaller 16mm loco but inevitably life got in the way. About 10 years ago I started a Brighton version of Masie but again it stalled. I had just got the workshop (in the cellar!) rearranged for retirement but decided to have a go at some more University stuff. Eight years later at 70 I ended up with a PhD in literature and a pile of house jobs to do and still no progress on Masie. Now the house is sorted - well mostly, so model engineering is back on the agenda. I have small Perfecto lathe, bought on the knock from the wages of my first job, plus a decent 50 year old ML7, a Warco Chinese mill, a couple of pillar drills and somewhere a hand shaper. So there really is no excuse now not to finish poor old Masie. John

Nice to meet you! I've been in Avionics too, Flight Test Instrumentation at Boscombe Down. Lots of us seem to end up in this hobby.
A very warm welcome. I'd love to see some photos of the locomotives if you have them.
