Hi everyone from West Yorkshire, i have been building a Springbok for a number of years now and this is my first attempt at this, i have already encountered many of the pitfalls as per Martin Evans Drawings etc... i have only just discovered this site and already seen plenty of pointers towards making this Locomotive less of a struggle to build, i am a member of a couple of clubs and before this crazy covid thing was able to be guided by a fantastic Engineer, however its not a great time for meeting up and i have loads and loads of questions to ask regarding the build. my aim is to produce a good passenger puller and of course to do the loco justice, i am quite far into the build but still have plenty to do, so Thank you in advance for all the invaluable advice and Guidance this site is providing from folks who have built and are building this Great Locomotive, All The Best Andy

Hi Andy, welcome to the forum. I'm afraid that I can't help re 'springbok' but I'm sure others who have built this loco can. You may find a better response if posting in the 'general chat' section where most of the build threads are, perhaps even start a thread of your own? More people will see your post/questions then...
Regards
Pete

Hi Andy and welcome. I have a B1 which I bought as complete but un steamed, now all up and running well. Basically built exactly to Martin Evans drawings. I have learnt a lot about his Springbok design from my experience and talking to a very experienced club member who owns one and has built at least two others as well as many other locos. If I can be of offer help I will gladly do so. As Pete suggests maybe start a thread of your build so others can follow progress and chip in with advice and ideas.
