Hi, New member from Guildford, Surrey here. I’ve almost finished building a 2 1/2 inch gauge Britannia to the Chris Baron plans, which I’m hoping to run on my fathers garden layout when COVID allows. Next project a 5 inch gauge 9F which I’ve got all the castings from another member who was unable to carry out the project. Mainly interested in live steam and workshop machinery. Hoping to contribute and learn in equal measure. James

Welcome to the mad house James,
Please post about your loco builds, you'll find out I'm all about my BR standards (building my own 9f and a class 4) but I'm also into 2 1/2" with Dad's projects.

James
Guildford has a nice track, and Adam does 'ok' castings for BR standards ( lol) I would recommend that you have a look at what he has to offer. you will not be disappointed. There are several of us on here who are badgering him to do some LNER casting! Any problems, questions ( there is no such thing as a dumb one) just ask. Enjoy your stay on here. We trust it will be for a long time

Hi all Many thanks for the warm welcome. I’ve already spent a fair time lusting over Adams lovely work. I’ve no doubt once I get stuck into the 9F I’ll be adding to his retirement fund.

Hi James, Welcome on board. I am doing far too many projects but I just love them all. Plus sometimes a solution to help at least 3 others comes at you from some sketch you are doing for an odd 2F Fowler Dock Tank. Twin Sisters sort out from impossible drawings. Using the existing castings. I love BLACK LOCOMOTIVES. 2 of my model projects are a bit Mickey Mouse Pardon the pun but some of Adams bits will fit nicely upon them. Both part builds and sometimes I get to work upon. The drawings need amending to more scale but living in Reading find we are quite close to some full size models upon which to take inspiration. Yes Guildford track is superb.
Best Regards David and Lily.
