My Ex-brother-in-law once let me into see his "Big CNC Mill". The milling table was about 15M wide. The first thing I noted was that they had not clamped down the piece of metal they were milling until as he explained it was time to "turn it over to do the other side" as the blocks of steel they were machining were rather heavy (smallest was 20T) and the shearing force required to strip on the threads of a high tensile steel clamp was rather small in comparison.
I always wondered what they did to get rid of all the swarf.

That’s a cool machine, I have worked on machines that size but never one that’s both mill and a lathe, what a great design
