My ex was going to build a Western Maryland in 7 1/4". Having brought all the original works drawings and started redrawing it, one of the american ME companies started doing the castings for it.
I assume that he never got a round to actually cutting metal.

I am working on a model of a Willamette geared loco in 1.6" scale for 7.5" gauge track. The Willamette is similar enough to a Shay that many can't tell them apart. There are good images of both at: www.gearedsteam.com/Regards, Doug

Repeat thanks. Iv'e had the Hiroka (two truck Shay) book for a few years so have decided to go that route as he put in the scaling data for 7 1/4. But will probably try to incorporate some detailing from some of the links that were suggested. Gone totally mad and made a start on the wheels today (from solid ) loads of swarf and now have 8 wheel blanks to the right size. Just completed the spokes on one and the Bridgeport has given a sigh of relief when I turned it off.

Paul, Here is another site of a Willamette under restoration. Not often do you get to see a locomotive in pieces! www.soc-nrhs.org/Medco4.htmDoug
