My first CNC project at university was to profile out a C clamp. The profiling came out well and I first put a scriber in the Chuck and traced out several times the profile. All went well and I said to the lecturer come and watch... Off the program went and traced out the profile perfectly. Being a sumg git I asked what he thought, just as the machine went to the next part of the program without changing tool. Off went the downfeed and powered the scriber into the plate as I had not disabled the drilling routine. You live and learn.
